“Really fantastic worldbuilding. The author does a great job at introducing different societies, cultures, and planets, and making them feel distinct from each other as well as Earth.
My issues with this book are with the pacing and way that it's told. I found it very hard to grasp onto what was happening sometimes, and while I'm not too proud to admit to being too slow for some books and concepts, I don't think this was just a me issue. In many ways, it felt like the author was (rightfully!) having a lot of fun coming up with concepts and just wanted a vehicle to deliver information to the reader. I wish there was a bit more on page for some characters, like Serendipity, and that the plot and character progressions felt more cohesive.”
