“Another fun Sherlock Holmes spin-off!
One of the many things that has cemented Sherlock Holmes as one of my favorite literary characters of all time, is all of the different takes authors have on him. Whether they are creating a new mystery, or revamping the original ones like this book did, it brings something new to love about the world’s greatest detective and the beloved Dr.Watson. They are the same people, but under incredibly different circumstances.
Davies was very clever intertwining the mysteries and characters from A Study in Scarlet and The Sign of Four. It kept me excited throughout the whole story, wondering who else from the classic series we might find and what new role they play. The layers of deception keep you on the edge of your seat.
