“A wonderful redemption arc and I am very interested to read more about the Franklin Expedition that inspired it. I think that I would have enjoyed it even more as a full length novel, but given that it was originally a play, I understand that there is only so much info that can be divulged in such a short amount of time. I just didn't have much time to grow attached to any of the characters. Once again, I'm sure I would feel otherwise seeing it as a play, but it felt slightly lacking as a short story (but I tend to feel that way about most short stories). I wasn't a huge fan of the "second sight" aspect, but it added to the drama of the story, so I get it. Overall, I enjoyed it and am glad that I read another work of the amazing Wilkie Collins!”
