The Forest of Lost Souls
ByPublisher Description
A fearless woman, raised in the forest, fights against a group of powerful men in a novel about good versus evil, the enduring nature of myth, and the power of love by #1 New York Times bestselling author Dean Koontz.
Raised in the wilderness by her late great-uncle, Vida is a young woman with an almost preternatural affinity for nature, especially for the wolves that also call the forested mountains home. Formed by hard experience, by love and loss, and by the prophecies of a fortune teller, Vida just wants peace. If only nearby Kettleton County didn’t cast such a dark shadow.
It’s where Jose Nochelobo, the love of Vida’s life and a cherished local hero, died in a tragic accident. That’s the official story, but Vida has reasons to doubt it. The truth can’t be contained for long. Nor can the hungry men of power in Kettleton who want something too: that Vida, like Jose, disappear forever. One by one they come for her, prepared to do anything to see their plans through to their evil end. Vida is no less prepared for them.
Vida, the forest, and its formidable wonders are waiting. She will not rest until goodness and order have been restored.

“This was a brilliant read. All roads lead to a satisfying conclusion. The supernatural aspect was beautifully woven into the tale. I highly recommend this book. But as a fan of most of Koontz' work I'm obviously biased.”

“True to his nature, Dean Koontz presents a tale deeply entwined with the gray areas we choose to overlook as humans. Modern day man lives a life of destruction. We are pulled deeply towards selfish acts of self destruction, driven mad by our hunger for money and a sense of invincibility. This book encompasses that darkness, presenting an unlikely light in the dark. A woman willing to stand amongst nature, backed by teeth and claws to protect it and herself from the bloodied hands of those who thrive in the shadows we choose to ignore. A lesson is to be learned here about man, but are you ready to hear it?”

“Five stars!
Buckle up for a ride with Vida, a fierce nature whisperer who's not afraid to claw her way through corporate conspiracies and supernatural shenanigans to protect her beloved forest. Think Erin Brockovich meets Twilight, but with way more wolves. Just be prepared for a vocabulary workout – Koontz is showing off his lexicon!
Mark my words, this book would be an amazing thriller movie or series!!”
