The Five

By Robert McCammon
The Five by Robert McCammon digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Robert McCammon's first contemporary novel in nearly two decades, The Five tells the story of an eponymous rock band struggling to survive on the margins of the music business.

As they move through the American Southwest on what might be their final tour together, the band members come to the attention of a damaged Iraq war veteran, and their lives are changed forever. This is a riveting account of violence, terror, and pursuit set against a credible, immensely detailed rock and roll backdrop. It is also a moving meditation on loyalty and friendship.

Written with wit, elegance, and passionate conviction, The Five reaffirms McCammon's position as one of the finest, most unpredictable storytellers of our time.

At the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.

“I have very mixed feelings about this one. It had a big no one would act like this moment for me earlyish that bothered me. At times it felt very preachy and just kind of disjointed… but I still found the story interesting and engaging despite these things. Worth the read I think but definitely not one of my favorites from Mccammon.”
“Never thought I’d DNF a McCammon book. I’ve enjoyed every single one of this author’s other works. The first 40% of The Five are unbelievably boring. I can’t justify spending my time to read on as I have zero interest in the characters or what happens to them inbetween the endless paragraphs describing boring rock band stuff and the characters uninteresting inner thoughts.”
