Surprised Face with Open Mouth““But mostly, I can’t hate him, Avery Kylie Grambs, because he brought me you.” -1 star for how she did Toby and Grayson 😭 I mean I get it but I don’t like it. The family tree here is more of a web tbh. Or tangled headphones. And as I’ve seen on other reviews from the previous books, everyone would benefit from therapy. Nonetheless, this book continues with exciting twists and turns and all the same beloved characters. They really go through it with this one but Avery grows and shows that she’s worthy of it as Grayson asked her to be in the first book. Loved getting more Xander and seeing them all work together to solve some vague-r riddles. Traps on traps…riddles on riddles… Spoilers below because I have a few more comments I simply MUST make: So is she not leaving Toby with someone who abducted and abused him?? WHYYYY couldn’t Toby win his first game against Eve? If he was going to be revealed to be alive for losing both games, why not be revealed to be alive and be FREED?!?! Bro. Leave Eve. She did terrible things. Idc 🤷‍♀️ and Avery is ok with this????? Bro… And Grayson. Oh my Grayson. The tension between him and Avery was weird because it didn’t lead up to anything. If there had been more of a resolution that would be good, but it kind of just feels like in that final scene together they agreed to suppress it and she would be with Jameson. Love Jameson and came around more in this one, but the way it worked out didn’t sit quite right with me. Grayson got done dirty over and over 😭😭 connecting with Eve only for it all to be fake (which was clear a mile away, but not to him), sacrificing himself (hE’s GoInG tO sAcRiFiCe HiMsElF), doing anything for Avery, admitting his feelings to Avery, and Avery thinking about him CONSTANTLY?! I fully get Avery and Jameson being right but even so she didn’t have to do all that to Grayson :/ Anywho. I still enjoyed it very much. Onto the next one 😁”
