The Faraway Inn
ByPublisher Description
After a devastating heartbreak, a teen girl decides to spend her summer helping her eccentric great aunt manage her quaint Vermont inn—but the fixer-upper is hiding a magical secret—in this cozy and irresistable new YA fantasy from the New York Times bestselling author of The Spellshop.
When sixteen-year-old Calisa arrives at her great-aunt’s B&B in rural Vermont for the summer, she’s shocked to find a rundown inn rather than the cozy bed-and-breakfast she was expecting. Grumpy and eccentric, Auntie Zee is determined to keep anyone from messing with her beloved inn . . . even though she clearly needs the help.
To convince her great-aunt to keep her around, Calisa sets to work fixing up the inn, enlisting extra help from the groundskeeper’s (handsome) son. But the longer she stays, the surer she is that there’s something strange about the B&B—and its guests. Something almost . . . otherworldly.
The inn is hiding a magical secret—but secrets are like doors. Once Calisa opens this one, she won’t be able to go back . . .

“The Faraway Inn was a delightful, fun, cute, and enjoyable read. I was rooting for Calisa the entire time and loved getting to know the guests at Auntie Zee's bed and breakfast along with her. If you are in the mood for something lighthearted and cozy, The Faraway Inn is a wonderful choice!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.”

“4.75 ⭐️ Sarah always delivers cozy fantasies, the kind that feel like a hug, warm your heart, and leave you with a few lessons along the way. This book is no exception. Calisa is fresh off a breakup and looking for an escape, much like the guests who find themselves at her great aunt’s inn.
I loved following Calisa as she discovers just how magical her great aunt’s bed and breakfast really is, along with all the fun personalities of the guests. And can we talk about the nods to Sarah’s other books? Raspberries, pastries, statues… iykyk 😉
My only tiny gripe is that while I know this is a YA story and the FMC is meant to be younger, at times she felt a bit too young for her age and other times older.
Other than that, cozy feels successfully delivered and will be fully adding it to my shelf ✅
Thank you for the ARC, Sarah Beth Durst, Delacorte Press and NetGalley 🙏”

“Thank you NetGalley and Sarah Beth Durst for the opportunity to read this e-ARC!
Sarah Beth Durst writes the coziest and most comforting novels. From the intricate world building and characters you can’t help but love to story twists you didn’t see coming. I find myself becoming equally invested in side characters as the main characters, but especially love her inclusion of animal companions. This one started at a slightly slower pace than her previous novels but the mysteries kept me in pursuit of unraveling their secrets. This held all the magic for me as The Spellshop and The Enchanted Greenhouse. I couldn't help but become invested! Cannot wait to own a physical copy with the gorgeous cover and stenciled edges!”
