“So this book wouldn't be something I would typically read but ive had it in my shelf for a few years, I asked my bf to pick a book, and he chose it. It was a good read. 28 made me pause and go back to make sure I was reading right. Claire is such a strong woman. I love the perspective of her being a teen and why she was so into the dinosaurs. Def recommend if you like dinosaurs, some drama, and action!”

I enjoyed this book. I liked the story. I think this backstory is something that was necessary for Claire's character, as she was rather...cold in the movie. This offers more of an explanation.
I actually quite liked Claire and Justin's relationship. I'm not one to grow terribly attached to very many romances (I can think of maybe four that I absolutely love) but I did enjoy their interactions. I found it quite sad that he had to die in the end.
Dr. Wu was also surprising. I wasn't expecting to like him more than Masrani in this book.
As for the other characters, they were alright. I would have liked to see their friendships with Claire and Justin develop more, over a larger amount of time. They all seemed to click pretty much right away. I know that can happen, but it would have been nice to see a few more vulnerable conversations outside of the one she had with Tanya about the twins' little sister.
I really enjoyed the dinos in this book. They didn't have the largest parts, but they certainly had an impact on the story. It was nice that they all had names, and Pearl was adorable. Rexy, though she was only present in about one chapter, retained the sense of danger she brings with her.
The small mystery in this book was also quite good, though I do wish Claire would have begun looking into things a bit sooner.
Finally, the writing worked just as it was. I'm not the most reliable critic when it comes to writing style - in truth, I'm rather hesitant to comment on how an author writes their story - but I couldn't help noticing something off about this style. In certain areas it felt just a tad bit awkward. However, it works just fine, and the story is strong enough to make up for any shortcomings in the writing.
In short, I enjoyed this book, and I would definitely recommend it to any Jurassic Park/World fan who is interested to learn more about the characters.”
