“1.5 stars from me. I honestly don’t know where to begin. The characters felt unengaging and flat, the plot was predictable and slow, and the 400 pages easily could have been trimmed down to 250. I found the storyline confusing at times, and the writing style was hard to follow and, frankly, not very good. The first book in the series was interesting and full of promise, which is why I was excited to pick up this one — but it turned out to be a complete disappointment.”
