3.5
“The Downloaded is a serviceable, easy read that works well enough as a gap-filler, but never quite rises above that. The premise is interesting and there are moments where the story hints at something deeper or more impactful, yet the execution remains fairly straightforward and predictable. While it kept me reading and did what it needed to do in terms of pacing, it didn’t offer much that felt fresh or memorable once finished. Overall, it’s not a bad book by any means, just a fairly middling one — a 2.5-star read that passes the time but doesn’t leave a lasting impression.”
