“Having really enjoyed book one of this fantasy series I was keen to read book two. Loved the way the author continued the story line, developing the characters and mythical aspects of the plot. If anything stepping it up a level again. Some brilliant characters, mixed with plenty of danger and intrigue. A really good continuation of a the series.”

“The Dominion – Defiant by Chris Cloake is the second book in The Dominion trilogy. Good news, I had no issues reading this because everything is explained really well. I want to read the first book now, because I loved this so much and think that will be just as good! One of my favorite things about fantasy is how immersive the world can be. Defiant allows the reader to feel part of the story. The writing was excellent. It was paced well and the themes are strong. Love, loss, grief, guilt…it’s balanced so well, and makes for such a well rounded, fantasy novel. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author and this trilogy. I absolutely loved this and highly recommend it! Thank you to Zooloo’s Book Tours for the free review copy. All opinions are my own and unbiased.”

“I enjoyed coming back into this series, I thought this one included a lot more action compared to the first one. Here is the link to my review of Book One of the series. I liked how this book continued on from the first book and this book gave a good description of what happened in the first book so it was a good recap of what happened. This book gave us more of an insight into the history of the kingdom and more of the rules they have. The mention of historical events were well described and were very relevant to what was happening in the book. Rupert is such a family orientated character and he would do anything to help his kingdom. He looks out for his sister, Socha, because of the kidnap of her in the first book and because of the value she holds to the kingdom. He needs to keep her close because the evil creature is coming back to the kingdom to capture Socha. I am enjoying the world the author has built and the characters the author has created. I found everything was explained really well in this book and considering I read the first book in February, I did pick this one up with no worries. I am looking forward to what is to come in book three.”
