In Italy, he is called il Sommo Poeta and il Poeta. He, Petrarch, and Boccaccio are also called ‘the three fountains’ and ‘the three crowns’. Dante is also called ‘the Father of the Italian language’.

“Will and always will be in my top 5 books of all time because i've reread Inferno 3 times now and as 2023 me reviewed it and i quote: "Dante's Inferno walked so AO3 self insert fanfics could run." couldn't agree more but i would add that now it's "Dante's inferno walked so mean girl's burn book could run."
