“Not for me, to be honest. It scared me and felt very perverted. I am motivated to research further into the mythological lore that may have inspired this and what is something people actually believe in and what is not (specifically of Bonbibi). And I liked that the end showed why the main character (the professor) would be so intrigued by the stranger. Interesting allegory for sexuality and gender identity, and maybe the discomfort is intentional for those reasons. The prose is a bit over complicated as well. But anyways, overall not for me, sorry! The discomfort outweighed my interest. There were too many explicit mentions of different bodily fluids going places.”Anjana s

Indra Das is an Octavia E. Butler Scholar and graduate of the 2012 Clarion West Writers Workshop. He completed his MFA at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, where he wore many hats, including freelance editor, writing tutor, occasional illustrator, environmental newswriter, and dog-hotel night-shift attendant. His short fiction has been published in many fiction magazines and anthologies. The Devourers is his first published novel. He divides his time between India and North America and is hard at work on his next novel.
