“This is one hell of a punch for a short story. I am so amazed by the storyline, the vivid descriptions of the world and the circumstances. Nothing felt lacking, the content feels satisfying to read even though it was this short. Aside from these writing aspects, underneath the storyline lies various perspectives on the human condition that is very reflective in todays’ society. It’s a lot that can be unpacked here but ultimately, the centre of this story highlights how pursuing hope in the darkest of moments and circumstances can drive immeasurable change even before we realise it.”
“Very quick listen. Kinda strange kinda good as all of his books are.”
“This was a wild story of action and adventure that blended science fiction and the human experience. The landscape Bradbury portrays is brutal, but it highlights the things that mean most to us as people, even if it takes place on another planet where the average life span is 8 days and the world's conditions mean death. Sim desires life and hopes for happiness, making him unique among his people.”
