Nice, steady romance that starts with a fake boyfriend trope but quickly, and believably, develops into something more. Devon's mother is ruthlessly critical of her daughter, and in a moment of defiance, Devon asks Cole to pretend to be her boyfriend. Her mother, a snob of historic proportions, immediately disapproves, and continues to throw eligible, but completely wrong for her, bachelors her way. Cole, a retired bull rider, is now an aspiring artist, as well as the caretaker of his family's ranch. Devon has had a crush on his since high school, and she's worried about losing her heart to him. After two failed marriages, Cole has sworn off another serious relationship. I enjoyed how the romance developed, as well as how the relationship between Devon and her mother evolved as well.”
