The Good
This book completely got me on 3 big points: I’m a huge Hallmark Christmas movie lover, a Hallmark mystery movie lover, and yes, an absolute Clue lover! So when I saw this book... I just had to read it.
It was an incredibly enjoyable read from start to finish. Nicola Upson manages to infuse the plot with some wonderful nostalgia elements for Clue lovers, turning a festive party setting into something deeply clever. On top of the nostalgic nods, the book delivers a truly captivating mystery with a brilliant atmosphere that completely sucks you in. The classic winter aesthetics paired with the deduction elements are top-tier.
The Not So Good
The only tiny thing keeping this from a flawless 5-star rating is that with so many classic mystery elements and nodding references to track, the introductory acts can feel a little dense as all the moving pieces are set up on the board. However, once the puzzle drops into place, the momentum takes off completely!”
