“Initial Impressions 12/29/17: These aren't really five-star books but they just really hit all of my favorite things. I love the "coziness" of the cozy mystery (even though it's a thriller, not mystery -- is cozy thriller a thing?) and how much I really enjoy listening to these audiobooks. I didn't realize when I read the first book that it was more heist/con than mystery since all of the other Evanovich books I've read are more on the murder-mystery side and I LOVE the change of pace. I'm just enjoying them so much.
There's not much more to say about this book than the first except that I still love the involvement of everyday people in these cons. I'm not sure why it makes a difference but it does, and I like that we go to see new recruits as well as some of the characters we fell in love with in the first book.
I love the chemistry between Nick and Kate and I appreciate that they aren't just thrown into a romance right away. I like being able to follow their chemistry and story with things growing a little bit in each book without ruining that tension right off the bat.
Highly enjoying this series and I'm excited to keep reading!”
