“Thomas McGuane is what you would get if Faulkner was a line cook in Alabama, I think. The precision with which he describes ridiculous looking people, unbelievably absurd business ventures, and ultimately a hemorrhoid gouging procedure had me rolling from the first few pages. High brow meets low
brow and it’s wonderful”

“Genuinely made me laugh throughout the whole thing. So ridiculous, one of the better main characters I’ve had the pleasure of spending time with. A dumbass with a violent streak who can sometimes pull off a smart sentence or two.”
