“This was a sweet, quick read.
I was surprised about how much I felt towards each of the main characters. It was equally negatively and positively for both Landon and Kelsey. lol The author brought out the emotion towards them! The choices Landon made and then Kelsey made in the past set them up for the perfect storm in the present.
I liked how the author showed the internal, spiritual struggle going on inside Kelsey. It helped me to see her as vulnerable, not just as an angry, bitter woman - and in this instance, rightfully so. Then on the opposite side we're able to see the caring heart of a guy who made a really bad choice which makes him out to be "not so bad".
I was surprised by Landon's struggle, but it made sense with his career. I really liked how the author handled it! It gave good insight to one of the reasons Kelsey had a hard time trusting him and especially with Adeline. And I had no idea the military requires people to create a family plan for their babies/children. That was so interesting to me. Makes sense!
This was an enjoyable story and I liked getting to know Kelsey and Landon. Relationships aren't easy, but as they show, if you're willing to work at it, good things can happen.
*I received this book for review. This is my personal opinion.”
