“A contemporary romance that's not wholly original and honestly pretty middling -- hence the 3 stars -- but is a generally positive reading experience.
What I liked:
- The quick, sparkling chemistry between Rory and Samira
- The protagonists' interesting backstories, though they lacked emotionality
- Samira's growth and lessons learned
- The fact that the age gap wasn't the conflict in the story
What I disliked:
- Samira's out-of-character reaction in the last 1/3 of the book
- Something about the writing style bugged me. I usually don't mind, or even notice, 3rd person POV, but I noticed it this time and it took me out of the story a few times.”
