“Honestly I feel like I have no words. The story was written insanely well, and even though all of the Egyptian history went way over my head, I appreciated it because of how much it meant to the characters. The ending however needs work. I need answers. I need to know what happened!!!!! Who did she choose?!?!”Cam B

“This took me a really long time to finish. I found the information dumps on the Egypt chapters to be very boring and all too frequent. That’s a me problem though. Nothing to do with the book really. What I can say about the book is that I did not like Dawn. I’m not a big fan of cheating in books, and I don’t understand why it’s such a popular trope at the moment and our main character was cheating the whole time? Not really but virtually yes. She cheated on Brian with Wyatt in Egypt and although not outright cheating, she got together with Brian without ever having broken up with Wyatt. She did seem pretty selfish the entire book and one thing that really gets me are Brian’s apology emails to her while she’s in Egypt, as if he needs to be apologizing and not the other way around. I feel like that was just a way to push the idea that both timelines were in fact happening at the same time instead of being before and after the crash. Also merets body image issues felt like an addition for the sake of wrapping things up in a neat little bow.
I do love Jodi picoult a lot but this book was just not my cup of tea.”

“I DNF'd. I usually like Picoult, but this one felt like she spent hours in a few museums and then threw all of that research at the readers with the hope that it would blend into a compelling plot. Honestly I've yet to read a romantic storyline by this author that captures my attention as much as the dramas do. That could just be my preference, but as a romance reader I feel like that says a lot.”
