“This book was very good. It made my sad for Valancy that her family treated her so badly. Her mother treated her like she was not worth caring about, Valancy's family would talk bad about her. She got tired of it and went to live and take care of an old school friend who was sick and dying.
she met and married Barney because SHE was told by a doctor that she has a heart problem and would only live a year. she loved that she was able to do whatever she wanted and she fell in love with Barney. She was so happy to be away from her mother, cousins, aunt and uncles.
When she found out that her father-in-law was rich, she left her husband because she thought Barney didn't love her and she wouldn't fit into the life her father-in-law wanted his son to come back to.
I'm so glad that Valancy and Barney got there happy ending.”
