“a beautifully written and evocative set of poems from such an accomplished writer. i love the way lorde writes, free flowing and rich with metaphor. the connections to african culture throughout her poems add another layer of richness and meaning, and i appreciated the explanation of the meaning and significance of the african names at the back of the book.
i am excited to read more of audre lorde, and i am in awe of her literary talent and prowess. my favourite poems in this were a litany for survival and bicentennial poem #21,000,000”
