“The blurb is so inaccurate but the story remains good. It’s actually friendship fiction with drama and complex relationships. Loved it. I’ve read some of her more recent work and it’s so lovely to see that the material has indeed improved over the years even though this was still good in its own way.”Monique

“3.5 ⭐️ rounded up!
i’ve read many of Sarah Pekkanen’s books, but only a couple of her older books (Skipping a Beat; These Girls); since this novel has been on my TBR for as long as it’s been in the published world (since 2013!) and i wait patiently for her newest release (The Locked Ward), i figured i’d venture back to the books i never go around to reading. ✨
this was good, definitely full of surprises and drama! i love a reunion/friend-group-gets-together-and-what-can-go-wrong type of book. that said, this was definitely of its time. by this, i mean there were plenty of dated references that caught my attention (sometimes thinking, “haha, i forgot that was a thing”, but sometimes i would think, “eww…i can’t believe that used to be a thing”). 😆
in any case, i enjoyed this. SP is a great writer and i love seeing (reading) how she’s improved all these years (and many books) later! 😊”Natalie Tipton
