The Bathroom Love Affair Reviews

3.0
“The Bathroom Love Affair by xpanicx is another BL story I recently read, and while I did enjoy it, I have a lot of mixed feelings about it too. The story itself had potential and the chemistry between Zach and Eros was definitely there. Their love-hate dynamic kept me hooked, and I did feel invested in how things would turn out for them. But honestly, I didn’t really like Eros as a character. The way he kept rejecting his feelings for Zach just because they were both guys felt really frustrating. I get it—society can be harsh and homophobia is very real. It’s not easy to accept yourself when the world makes you feel like something is wrong with you. But still, I wish Eros had handled things with more maturity. Faking feelings for one of his girl friends just to prove something? That really hurt. And there were moments where I genuinely hoped Zach wouldn’t end up with him because of how messy and hurtful Eros could be. At the same time, I do understand why Eros acted the way he did. People deal with identity, fear, and self-acceptance differently. He wasn’t perfect—and maybe that’s what made him feel real. I just wish his growth was shown in a more thoughtful and respectful way. In the end, the story still gave me something to think about. The tension, the emotional push-and-pull, and the raw parts of figuring yourself out in a judgmental world... it was messy, but it felt honest in some way. Not my favorite, but still a story I don’t regret reading. 🥲🫶”
