“Thank you to Netgalley and Mulholland Books for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinions.
Beth has a past life that is a secret from everyone she knows. She is happy to keep that life a secret, until someone begins to murder her past boyfriends one by one. She must find out who is killing off her past lovers before he gets to her husband.
I had a hard time getting into this book. I did not find Beth to be a likeable character. I think because I couldn't relate to her it made all of the events surrounding her life feel overly exaggerated. I didn't understand the problems in her marriage, I didn't understand her relationship with Zayne, and I didn't understand why her past was such a big secret. I feel like in an effort to add suspense the author added in a bunch of events and didn't have a good way to make them seem important to the character.
I did however think that the ending was great. I never guessed who the murderer was and I did think that the author did a good job of keeping the reader guessing throughout the book. I feel like this was a pretty good book that could have been better with more solid characters.”
