“Hmmmm, I wanted to like this one SO much, and it held so much promise. But something was off. I honestly guessed early on what Thad's secret was, because it just made sense. And sure enough I was right. But truthfully the whole thing was conflicting it was a marriage of convenience or a marriage bargain but what was a part of the bargain wasn't so well documented to me. In fact there seemed to be other reasons they married, more than the bargain part. And then there was the issue of the previous relationship , at times it seemed there was more promise for Elmer and May instead of Thad and May. Elmer seemed far more interested in her than Thad and it seemed all a game to him initially. Then it seemed they both at one time were growing feelings but, not really showing it much. Idk something was amiss. It was too hot and cold. Which is normal for the marriage of convenience trope, but it just wasn't quite convincing me. A lot of time was spent learning about their business ventures and cheese and things. There was a turning point in the book , the moment of confession where I did feel myself really engaged in the story. But for the most part... I don't think their love story was told well enough, it wasn't the page turner I was expecting unfortunately for a Love Inspired book.”

“Imagine being in love with someone and planning to marry him and then being jilted for your sister. That is what happened to May Bender. But then after her sister dies unexpectedly and leaves behind a daughter, May moves in so she can take care of her niece. So when the Bishop of their Amish community tells them they must marry, May struggles with what to do. Add in a domineering mother-in-law and this story comes to life.
From an injury to a tornado to figuring out how to keep her parents’ farm, May struggles and works to take care of those she loves. But when she finds out some secrets Thad has been keeping from her she has to decide what she is going to do. Then she discovers some other secrets someone else had kept from her, and she had to decide what to do. So read this book for yourself to see if May and Thad get a happy ending or not.
I received a copy of this book for my fair and honest review.”
