“Teddy Roosevelt Was a Moose is the first book in the Wait? What? series by Dan Gutman that I've read. Also available are books about Muhammad Ali, Amelia Earheart, and Albert Einstein.
This was a good children's book that introduces young readers to our 26th President. It served as a good refresher for me, as I haven't read about Roosevelt since AP US History in 11th grade. I am for sure not a part of the target demographic for this book, but I feel like it contained a lot of good information. Teddy Roosevelt is often in the top 5-10 of Best Presidents lists as a result of his various accomplishments. This book does point out that while he did do a lot of good as Commander in Chief, he was far from perfect. I think that this is important to include when learning about this president.
