“That was a wild ride. Glad I did not do this one on audio. The flow of the dialogue would have been difficult to keep up with.
While the novel was published in 1999, some of the themes fit in today’s world - over-the-top religion, media driven messages, a pill for everything. It’s interesting when a novel holds up to time like that.
Random thoughts:
I wonder if all those cleaning tips really work?
How fun was it to make up all those drug names?
I really liked this line, on page 150 of the paperback I read, “You realize that our mistrust of the future makes it hard to give up the past.””

“In dispatches it’s extremely nihilistic, beyond nihilistic. But taken as a whole, quite an affirming and beautiful story.”

“Chuck Palahniuk could always find a way to construct such bizarre and provocative concepts into intriguing narratives. Where do these ideas come from?? I give this Survivor a 4.0 instead of 3.5 rating whenever I crave a reading that’s unhinged and so unworldly, I can always rely on Palahniuk’s books.”
