“I picked this one up because I got tickets to an author talk early next month and I wanted to read at least one book from both authors.
It was not bad but for some reason kind of.. forgettable? Bland? Cliche in a way. I enjoyed the stormtech concept and the main characters were likeable enough but the plot outside the sci-fi elements was pretty predictable and war stories are not really my cup of tea
I’m not sure if I’ll continue the series or not, but it’s not on the top of my TBR”

“No Spoilers
This was a fantastic military sci-fi with visceral emotions, internal dialogue and vivid settings. The action punches you in the gut and never lets down.
Ton of unexpected surprises and plot twists, one of which points to future books. I loved how the stakes got even higher half way through the book.
This is one of the best military sci-fi I’ve read thus far. So glad I already have Blindspace on my TBR so I can continue this journey with Vak
SYNOPSIS:
“Vakov Fukasawa used to be a Reaper: a bio-enhanced soldier fighting for the Harmony, against a brutal invading empire. He's still fighting now, on a different battlefield: taking on stormtech. To make him a perfect soldier, Harmony injected him with the DNA of an extinct alien race, altering his body chemistry and leaving him permanently addicted to adrenaline and aggression. But although they meant to create soldiers, at the same time Harmony created a new drug market that has millions hopelessly addicted to their own body chemistry.
Vakov may have walked away from Harmony, but they still know where to find him, and his former Reaper colleagues are being murdered by someone, or something - and Vakov is appalled to learn his estranged brother is involved. Suddenly it's an investigation he can't turn down . . . but the closer he comes to the truth, the more addicted to stormtech he becomes.
And it's possible the war isn't over, after all . . .”
