Stories of God Reviews

3.5
“Frankly, I didn’t know exactly what I was picking up when I purchased this from my bookstore (I had hoped it was some of Rilke’s poetry because I like his work), but it was a 2nd edition so here we are. This book is a collection of short stories where our main character tells fairy tale, Tolkien-esq (Think Tales from the Perilous Realm, but religious allegory) stories of God to his neighbors. These stories are meant to convey some attributes or ideas of God and the idea that God is everywhere and in all things, and our main character always wants the stories repeated to the children of the village. I found the stories to be difficult to understand and follow, and there was very little that gave me pause to think and reflect. For me this was a bust, but a 2nd edition bust so 2 stars I guess.”
