Stick Move

By Cathryn Fox
Stick Move by Cathryn Fox digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

All I wanted was to save the coastal resort that has been in our family for generations.

Little did I expect the buyer would be the NHL player who my clique picked on in high school.

I have no idea why the boy from the wrong side of the tracks would drag me - his enemy - back from the brink of ruin.

But when he insists he has a position for me - nanny for his little girl - I begin to understand his motives.

Revenge.

I have no idea how he plans to exact it, but I'm willing to find out if it means saving White Beach Resort.

As I wait for the ball to drop, the summer begins to slip by, and I begin to fall for the man who hates me.

Stupid, I know.

While I still haven't discovered what he has up his sleeve, I slowly, deliciously discover what he has under his shirt, and below his belt.

The only problem is, I can't figure out if his touches and kisses are still about payback, or if they're about something more.

But I think I have a way to find out...and I pray it doesn't backfire.

“A new series with a ton of heart and the cutest little girl that will win over hearts with her lumpy pancake wishes. Brighton White needs help with her failing resort and Noah Jones he needs help with his four year old daughter, Camryn. While these two people have known each other since childhood they did not hang out in the same social circles. Brighton was in the popular group, while Noah...I'll just say, wasn't. And while Noah did grow into his body and become a famous NHL player he still has his humility and is pretty down to earth. So while Brighton was actually a popular girl and ran with the crowd that used to pick on Noah before he grew into his body and looks, she's a woman who is more humbled from her life's experiences and now appreciates what life has given her. Is she a bit leery of Noah when he first arrives on the scene...for sure, but Noah is the same given his past around her. However, there is a lot of great banter and growing pains between the two of them as they figure out their new world. "I'm not sure you heard, but I'm his nanny now." "Oh, really. does that mean you get to spank him when he's naughty." On top of the new dynamic, there are also a lot of sweet daddy-daughter moments which also roll into a lot of sweet nanny-little girl moments too. Camryn Jones is big part of the plot, really a big reason and motivation for why Noah does a lot of what he does in this book, I mean who wouldn't want to do everything they can for their sweet little girl, but the other huge motivator in Noah's life is Brighton. At Noah's core he's a protector, a nurturer, and he wants to help her, so it's hard not to like him. Not one little bit. Once Brighton eases into what's happening to her family resort, she is a much more engaging character and very easy to like as well. The grass isn't always greener when someone grew up with privilege and Brighton eases us into that view of loneliness to which gives Noah the opening he needs to view her with new eyes. This is a mature hockey series, where the men are established in their careers and all of the stakes are higher. Cathryn Fox did an excellent job of beginning a new hockey series that covers topics like family, careers, living arrangements, you know...all of those adulting things...like bills-yuck, LOL - basically everything carries more weight and it shows.”
