“This was a fantastic end of summer book club pick. I was invested in both stories from start to finish and the audiobook was great. As a contemporary romance girl, I wasn’t sure how I would like the historical romance storyline, but I found myself more interested in those chapters as the book went on. No spoilers but I was bawling the last 20 minutes of the book so have your tissues ready. It was so beautiful, though, and made me think about my grandma and all the stories she used to tell me. Highly recommend if you want a touching, romance style book.”
“This one had a lot of potential and many elements that made me like it. However, this was one of the times that the dual story didn’t quite work for me. I really didn’t not care for the modern time love story. I would have preferred a linear story from the 1944 story line to the future. I found myself bored and skimming the modern timeline.”
