“Oh man where to start... I didn't know what to expect after finishing "Path of Deceit", but I knew I had to get this book ASAP, and it was worth the wait.
The events take place not to long after Deceit and a bit after the Battle of Jedha or during it. The story follows Marda and Yana, as each go on their own journey after dealing with their own personal losses. One on a path of Vengeance. The Other on a path of enlightenment. We never know how one is going to be or end up, but lets say do not have the expectations you might assume they go.
We also get the story of Matty, a Jedi Padawan and Oliviera, Jedi Knight, each carrying their own burdens as it correlates with the Ro Women.
It also depicts how each of us handle Grief, and that it can go good, bad or to places we never expect we can end up.
The events of this novel lay the origins of how the Nihl was formed. Where the Nameless came from. Why the Jedi were not prepared in Phase 1 for this threat.
This story will stay with you. This is Peak Star Wars and the best book of Phase 2 of the High Republic.”
