“(Actual rating: 4.5/5 stars) I think THIS is my favorite book out of the Star Touched series. I had an elaborate explanation on my thoughts of Death and Night in a different review, but summarized I think this book really gave what The Star Touched Queen needed, which was an actual story from before Maya reincarnated- where we see all these things that impacted the tone of the present book. Poison and Gold was the weakest story in this short story book, not to say that it was bad!! From what I remember of A Crown of Wishes(which I will read soon I wanted to finish this book just to get my reading goal), Aasha was mainly a side character, so we do not know her as intricately as Vikram and Gauri. However, her character really shone here, and I love her journey of self discovery- it felt like a great final closure to her story. I also loved Zahril as a character. There were elements of romance in the story, but honestly I think the best part of it was these two characters heloing each other heal. Rose and Sword was the best story out of all three in my opinion, and such a perfect closer to the entire Star Touched universe. This story follows Gauri as she tries to save Vikram from death. We get to revisit characters from the original book such as Kamala, and we get mentions of Maya and Amar!! Additionally, we see Gauri and Vikram's family, especially their youngest granddaughter Hira (and the book hints at Hira getting her own taste of adventure),. While this series has a lot of flaws, I think this book was such a perfect closure to everything, and you can tell that it was a love letter to the series.”
