Publisher Description

Sawyer Black and David W. Wright, author of Yesterday's Gone and the No Justice series, bring you the dark, stand-alone horror novel Soulless.

Mickayla Waters is haunted by the death of her twin sister Rose. It was a childhood tragedy that tore their family apart.

While falling deeper into guilt and addiction, Mickayla is recruited by a fallen angel to carry the healing power of a sacred relic into the den of a cult attempting to gain control of Burg City.

If she fails, she'll lose the souls of millions.

If she succeeds, she'll lose her own.

Set in the world of Monstrous, Soulless will take you on a wild ride through the depths of damnation in search of redemption.

“I have a real love hate relationship with these authors. Much of the writing shows real talent and you can't help but enjoy the story. The main character is well written and you can't help but become a little invested in her. It was the same with the Monstrous series. Where the authors are seriously lacking is dialogue and general development of side characters. The characters often do and say things that just do not make sense. None of them feel real. It's as if whoever wrote them never took the time to think to themselves, "What would this character do in this situation?" and instead only decided what they'd have that character do. There's also a lot of very unnecessary things, like kristophel jumping up from the bed with a giant erection after doing heroin. Not only was this completely pointless and unnecessary, but I don't think that is the effect heroin has. Aside from this, there is the fact that the book is full of typos and horrible punctuation. The most frequent example is fragmented sentences; there's periods where there should be commas, and/or conjunction words. A good editor doing a full rewrite would be able to fix all of this. I chose to leave a three star review because the story itself was still well done and interesting, and I even liked the little nod to the Monstrous trilogy, despite the seperate issues I had with those three. All in all, I have to say the authors have potential to be great, but definitely have room for improvement.”
