About K.A. Teryna
K.A. Teryna is an award-winning author and illustrator. She was born in two places at once, one of which is beyond the Arctic Circle. Her fiction has been translated from Russian into six languages. English translations of her stories have appeared in Asimov’s, Apex, F&SF, Strange Horizons, Samovar, Podcastle, Galaxy’s Edge, and elsewhere. Her English-language short story collection, Black Hole Heart and Other Stories, is forthcoming from Fairwood Press in 2025. As of late, Chekhov the Cat has become K.A. Teryna's co-author. Alex Shvartsman (translator) is the award-winning author of Kakistocracy, The Middling Affliction, and Eridani's Crown fantasy novels as well as over 120 short stories. His translations from Russian have been published at Reactor, Clarkesworld, F&SF, Asimov's, Analog, and many other venues. He's also translated for TV, film, and video games.
