Snowbound with Mr. Wrong

By Barbara White Daille
Snowbound with Mr. Wrong by Barbara White Daille digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Worst. Day. Ever. After Lyssa Barnett’s sister tricks her into reprising her role at Snowflake Valley's annual children's party, she doesn’t think anything can be worse than squeezing into her too-small elf costume. Then tall, dark, and way too handsome Nick Tavlock shows up to play Santa...and an unexpected storm leaves them snowbound in the isolated lodge.

The last thing Nick wants is to spend a cozy Christmas Eve with a trio of kids and the woman who dumped him. But as much as Lyssa frustrates him, he can't stop thinking about her. And soon, he's fighting very un-Santa-like thoughts of kissing a certain sexy Miss Elf under the mistletoe. As Nick starts to fall for Lyssa all over again, he knows it will take nothing short of a miracle to have Lyssa inhis arms on Christmas Day.

Each book in the Snowflake Valley series is a STANDALONE story that can be enjoyed out of order.

“This is a great warm & cozy Christmas read!”
“I had mixed feelings about this one. I enjoyed to prisms of the story, but the outcome wasn't all that exciting. The H/h just seem blah 60% of the time. And the other 40% was just a notch above blah. Over all well written, cute storyline but it just didn't get me into the Christmas spirit. “Stuck with your ex playing elf to his Santa is bad enough but when they end up snowed in together, total nightmare. Lyssa and Nick split up when it became apparent they wanted different things from life. Nick defines his life by his work successes and the money he makes. He was always pushing Lyssa to do more with her life. Lyssa values her friends, family and love and job satisfaction means something different to her. Being snowed in together forces them to talk and they may just realise that they are not that different or far apart after all. The best thing about Christmas stories is the magic it brings. The hope and love seem stronger, special and more poignant. The fact that they are snowed in with three children added an extra dimension to this read. ***Reviewed for LBM Book Blog***”
“Lyssa has still not gotten over her ex . While playing a elf at a christmas party, she gets a shock when Santa walks in. Its none other than her Nick her ex. Nick is shocked to see Lyssa too. He wasn't expecting it when Lyssa ended the relationship. He thought the relationship was going well. Lyssa and Nick are two very different people, with very different values. I did wonder if they were too different to make it work. After the party has ended, Lyssa starts to drive down the mountain with Nick and three kids. Hoping to make it before the snowstorm starts. When a tree falls in their path they have no choice but to trek back to the cabin. Lyssa has her hands full caring for three children and an incapacitated Nick. She has to keep the kids entertained and deal with her growing emotions about Nick. The only thing about Nick that annoyed me was his constant referring to his job as a trouble shooter. It got grating in the end. Whether it was being snowbound or the magic of Christmas, feelings started to bloom again , for both parties. Can they learn to compromise and meet each other halfway? An enjoyable Christmas read. If you love second chance romances then pick this up. Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review”
“Snowbound with Mr. Wrong by Barbara White Daille is a short but fun Christmas story. Nick is a hard working, but money orientated man (according to Lyssa). He puts the job before everything; he doesn’t take holidays, and he certainly doesn’t want to be stuck in a small town. Coming from a wealthy but cold background, it’s the only life he knows. Nick shows his affections with lavish gifts and fancy restaurants, Lyssa is also a hard working character. She’s come from a family that helps each other, and after her mom got sick, Lyssa steps up and runs the home for the family. She takes that into her adult life and works hard to make a success of her business. Nick and Lyssa were a couple, but things ended when Nick made it clear that he thought Lyssa could do better, aim higher, and get out of the small town that she has always lived in. But both never expected to be thrown together over the festive season. Lyssa promised her sister to help give gifts to the kids in the town, so again she dons the elf costume and prepares to help Santa spread a little cheer, that is until she realizes who is playing Santa again this year. And Nick isn’t too keen on getting his heart stamped on again. So their first meeting after their break up is a frosty one. A snow storm traps Lyssa and Nick in the lodge that held the Christmas party. (Lyssa stayed behind to clear up, and Nick couldn’t get a ride down the mountain) and a trio of kids complete the trapped couple. After trying and failing to get off the mountain, they return to the lodge and wait to be rescued. After clearing the air between them, will they get their wishes and get their happy ending ? It’s a fun short read, full of laughter and Christmas spirit”

About Barbara White Daille

Barbara White Daille is an award-winning author whose short contemporary romances have received Top Picks and glowing reviews. Her books focus on small-town settings, where the heroes and heroines’lives are filled with family and friends, lots of nosy neighbors, and often a matchmaker—or three. Barbara has been a writer since before she could spell all the words in her stories. She and her husband live in the hot and sunny Southwest, where they love the lizards in the front yard but could do without the scorpions in the bathroom.
