Smoke on the Water

Smoke on the Water by Lori Handeland digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Love, like magic, can leave you breathless . . .

The powers that be dubbed me Willow Black after the black willow tree where I was abandoned. Into foster care I went and in foster care I stayed. No one wants to keep a fey girl who thinks she can see the future in the water—and bring the rain.

A stint in the Northern Wisconsin Mental Health Facility brings me face-to-face with the man who's haunted my visions for a very long time. Sebastian Frasier is not only the facility's new administrator but my new psychiatrist.

Others have tried to convince me that I'm delusional.  Been there, done that.  Still have visions.  Others have given up on me, but not Sebastian. Sebastian lost his sister to madness and it haunts him.  His sadness calls to me almost as much as the memories of a love that hasn't yet happened.

Sebastian does his best to logically explain away a few demonstrations of the impossible.  But when someone tries to kill me, we have no choice but to run. After that, fighting our intense, mutual attraction, the destiny that beats around us every time that we touch, is impossible.

A centuries-old witch hunter intent on killing not only me but the two sisters I didn't know I had, along with every other witch on earth, has been resurrected. I'm an elemental water witch and once my burgeoning power is combined with that of my sisters—an air witch and a fire witch—we just might be powerful enough to stop what's coming.

An epic battle against certain evil.

“The third installment in the Sisters of the Craft Trilogy proved to be my favorite. I love Willow Blacks delicate, yet fiery nature and I cannot even handle Sebastian (ahhhh! I looooves him! Can you tell I have a type?) Honestly though, this final showdown was wonderful, magical, full of surprises, and lots of suspense. Not to mention there were quite a few shocking discoveries made about the girls and their abilities. I've come to love all three: Raye, Becca, and Willow. Willow also has possibly the most intriguing story. She has been a mental patient since childhood, and all of this time knew she wasn't crazy. However, everyone thinks she is crazy, and a witch. Even more shocking, is how she comes to learn her true nature; via Mary...Owen McAllister's Mom! So, this is part of why I loved these stories. They all intertwined well, the timelines ran smoothly for me, and I love how each one started up in the recent past to catch us up to the now, and how the sisters come to find one another. The author did a great job with that. Plus, the transitions blurred together perfectly. Moving on, Sebastian is having a hard time dealing with the death of someone close, but the sisters, especially Willow, are able to help with that. Furthermore, Sebastain just cannot leave Willow alone, and he feels something tangible with her. He tries to fight, knowing that the doctor-patient boundaries ned to be kept, but he just can't! Plus, Willow has known him all her life, though he is unaware. The beauty of their relationship, and how all of the men come into the fold, is absolutely great! I love how all of them can offer their heroine something despite not being of magical heritage....not like the three sisters anyways ;) Through all of the death, through the finale that is full of explosive action and a ton of carnage we see the sister not only come together, but bind into a powerful entity to save the world, and themselves. I just loved every minute and I hope you take a chance on this series!”
