“This classic detective story started way too slowly to hold my interest. The author used a ton of legal and financial detail and jargon to set the mood—so much that it became almost comic, then just irritating. But once the murder finally happened and the plot actually got going, the book improved greatly and interested me much more. The mystery itself is good with an unpredictable, but satisfying resolution. If you like old school detective novels, I would maybe recommend trying something else by this author to see if his other books have mysteries that are just as interesting, but that have more consistent pacing.”

“People say don’t judge a book by its cover. I always assume this means don’t ignore the book with the ugly cover because inside could be magic. But in the case of his book omg I shouldn’t have judged the book by its cover. It is absolutely beautiful on the outside and nothing but boring on the inside. How can a murder mystery be boring you might ask, just read this book,”
