“Slated was the WHS Book Club book of the Month and I did enjoy it but not immensely. The book has a very interesting premise with it being set in a dystopian world where criminals had their minds wiped, but the execution of the book could have been better. All of the characters were very shallow except for the Mother and Doctor, and though I understand that the book was meant to leave a lot of questions I think the author should have elaborated a little more on some parts. Despite all this, I really enjoyed reading the book because it did have a lot of suspense stricken throughout it and the idea was brilliant. A lot of Dystopians novels fail at world building but the world in this book was great right off the bat, I hope that the next few books have more about it. The book was kinda iffy but it leaves a lot to the imaginations and that's what I really liked about it, you are able to speculate about whats going on and interact with the novel in a way that you cant with a lot of books. 4/5 I recommend this book to anyone who likes Dystopias and is looking for a quick and easy read.

I swear to everyone reading this that the father has to be some sort of villain, I am sure of it and what is up with Dr, Lysanders horse, what does that have to do with anything? And where is Ben, I really loved him and shipped KYLEN. The character parallels in this book are great a.k.a Phoebe and Dr.Lysanders love for animals is hidden behind a rude mask.”
