“This is my first read from John Grisham and I loved it. It was funny and the pacing was quick and addictive. The narrator, Dennis Boutsikaris was just perfect. Some bits were a little dated, things said that probably wouldn't be said in books nowadays and could be considered a little un-politically correct but, in line with how many people in the US thought at that time. Sometimes Luther wasn't that likeable but, once I stopped trying to like him and read him for how he was written, I started to enjoy his grumpiness.”
“This was terrible. The behavior of the neighbors and everyone when they found out about skipping Christmas was horrendous. The behavior of the Kranks in the way they did and didn't tell people, and the lack of communication, they would have absolutely deserved no one showing up at their party. I only finished because it was for a book club and was a short audiobook. I have never seen the movie and now never will after reading this monstrosity.”“Definitely dragged in some places but was a well-timed read between two heavy books. I was really surprised by how perfect the movie adaptation is.”
