Silk, Swords and Surrender

By Jeannie Lin
Silk, Swords and Surrender by Jeannie Lin digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Discover the passion and drama of Tang Dynasty China in these five tales of historical romance by the USA Today–bestselling author of Butterfly Swords.

Jeannie Lin has won both awards and legions of fans with her tales of love and swordplay in Medieval China. In Silk, Swords and Surrender, five unique heroines fight, steal, and seduce their way into their heroes’ hearts. This anthology combines four reader-favorite stories with an all-new novella, The Touch of Moonlight, which the author calls “a girl-next-door tale, Tang Dynasty-style, to counterbalance the sword fights and high drama.”

Slightly Smiling Face“What a good start to my reading year!! I chose this one to start with because, I figured a collection of short stories would be quick, boosting my incentive to get back into my reading habit. I was right!! These stories were so good, they were fast paced, funny, and absolutely transportive. For such limited word count, as is the nature of the beast, there was just enough description to paint the world around the characters beautifully! And the relationships! 😍 They were so cute! I was giggling the whole way through. The spice wasn't too crazy, and very well written. It certainly had its moments, but overall it was a nice medium spiciness level. In short I really recommend this for getting you out of a reading slump, especially if you love period Asian dramas! I absolutely loved this, and I can't wait to continue making my way through Jeannie Lin's works.”
“Even in a shortened form, Lin miraculously manages to weave history, romance, and plot seamlessly. Each story had unique characters coming to sweet and satisfying ends. Initially, I was nervous romance short stories wouldn't have much substance, but Lin proved me wrong. For non e-readers out there, this is a delicious little collection that keeps you in the loop of the on-goings in the Tang Dynasty.”
