“Paige Walsh shockingly witnesses her boss’s murder. His name was Donald Lessing, a federal prosecutor who was doing his best to keep an arms dealer in prison. This not only places Paige’s life in danger, but also that of her son Kenny as well as his therapy dog Aslan. Deputy US Marshal Lucas “Caveman” Cavendish has been assigned to get Paige and Kenny to a safe house until they can be placed in the Witness Protection Program. A never-ending nightmare has begun for all of them.
This book was an absolute rollercoaster of danger and action, but it also had a strong faith system that really added depth to the story. The characters were so well-developed, and Aslan made me want a dog of my own! Kenny idolized Lucas from the beginning, his “Cowboy”, and his instant trust in him was so heartwarming. Meanwhile, Paige knew that Lucas was just doing his job to protect them, and he knew it too. But as they spent more time together, a warm feeling started to grow between them. This touching story was an easy read, one that I enjoyed from beginning to end.

“Paige Walsh witnesses her boss’s murder and as the assassin sets eyes on taking out Paige, Deputy US Marshal Lucas Cavendish gets called in to protect Paige and her son until they get into the witness protection program.
As they travel to safety Lucas, Paige, Kenny (Paige’s son) & Aslan ( Kenny’s support dog) face multiple threats and dangers and the killer always seeming to know where they were headed so not only does Lucas have protection detail but he has to figure out who is leaking information out of the law enforcement team.
This book was full of action packed, edge of your seat suspense that you don’t want to put down.

“Wowww, just wow, this story was hard to put down!!! I started it and stayed up until early morning... I had to know how it ended! Thank you Terri Reed for another suspenseful, romantic story!
The federal prosecutor has been murdered, files are missing and Paige is the only witness, putting her life at risk. She and her son Kenny (and their dog Alsan) have to go into witness protection and they will be escorted by Deputy US Marshal Lucas. But there is a leak... everywhere they go, they are met with danger, someone is tipping off the murderer! Lucas has to keep Paige and her son safe as well as himself.... He needs to keep them all from danger, and try to keep their hearts from getting broken in the process. But the more they come to rely on each others presence in their lives, the harder this case becomes. It " should be" just another job for Lucas... and yet, he's realizing this is different. They both know there is no future for them. Once she enters witness protection, all ties to each other will be lost forever and yet neither of them want to consider that reality. They need each other now more than ever. She needs his protection and he will protect her and Kenny, no matter what!
"Trouble comes and trouble goes, but love remains and is worth the risk..."
Can Lucas keep Paige and Kenny safe? Will they find the leak? Can they neutralize the threat, so that they can avoid witness protection? Or will Paige and Kenny have to restart their lives with new names, new location and no possible future with Lucas?! You'll have to read it to find out!
