Publisher Description

A new page-turning thriller from USA Today bestselling author David Bell.

When a girl disappears, who do you suspect?

When 17-year-old Hunter Gifford wakes in the hospital on the night of homecoming, he's shocked to learn he and his girlfriend, Chloe Summers, have been in a terrible car accident. Hunter has no memory of the crash, and his shock turns to horror when he is told Chloe's blood has been found in the car—but she has disappeared.

Back at school, his fellow students taunt him, and his former best friend starts making a true-crime documentary about the case—one that points the finger directly at Hunter. And just when things can't get any worse, Chloe's mother stands in front of the entire town at a candlelight vigil and accuses Hunter of murder.

Under mounting pressure from the police, Hunter takes matters into his own hands by questioning anyone who might know the truth and posting videos to prove his innocence. When Hunter learns he and Chloe were seen arguing loudly outside the dance, he faces a sickening possibility. Was he angry enough to kill the person he loved?

She's Gone Reviews

3.5
“I gave this 4.5 stars. It had me sucked in from start to finish. Chloe and her bf leave the school dance just for them to get into an accident. Hunter shows up at the er with a major concussion and not knowing how he got there. Chloe is now missing. Of course the bf is always guilty right. Everyone is focused on him and he is starting to worry he did something to her by all the evidence he is given. He can’t remember what happened and he breaks a lot of laws to find out. The ending makes you shiver. Never expected it to play out like it did. It’s a must read!!!”
Surprised Face with Open Mouth“Great thriller!! Had me hooked to the end with a crazy twist.”
“Very similar to That’s Not My Name with that instantly gripping “waking up with no idea what happened” opening trope, and I was hooked from the start. Hunter waking up after homecoming with no memory of the accident and Chloe suddenly missing created such a tense, addictive setup. The mystery surrounding what really happened that night kept me flying through the pages, especially with everyone in town turning against him and making him the obvious suspect. What really made this a 4.5-star read for me was the ending. Just when I thought I had a solid theory, the story kept shifting enough to make me second-guess myself. The final reveals genuinely had me guessing until the very end, and I love when a YA thriller can still surprise me like that. It had the same compulsive, twisty energy as That’s Not My Name, but still felt unique with the memory loss angle, the true-crime documentary subplot, and the small-town suspicion. Such a fun, fast-paced thriller with an ending that absolutely delivered!”
