“The Army of Dr. Moreau by Guy Adams Adventurous, challenging, funny, informative, mysterious, reflective, sad, and tense. Medium-paced Plot- or character-driven? A mix Strong character development? It's complicated Loveable characters? Yes Diverse cast of characters? Yes Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated 4.0 Stars I'm loving this new collection of Sherlock Holmes mysteries. My wife bought me this 20+ book collection...and now I've finished the second in the series. I've been a big fan of the Arthur Conan Doyle books, for years (though I have not read them all. I need to fix that).  One of my favourite genres is Mystery...and it all started with Encyclopedia Brown, then Elory Queen, then Sherlock Holmes. I don't know how many Sherlock Holmes inspired novels that I've read...it has to be upwards of thirty or forty. I love them. This story brought characters from Holmes past, H.G. Wells' writings, and many other sources. It brought the world alive. They are perfectly written, keeping the time-period, but using the knowledge of this era of writing to serve an overall purpose. So well done. I will continue to read this series. So thankful to my wife for this gift that keeps providing adventure after adventure.”
