“I’ve now read the three winter themed Sherlock Holmes novels written by James Lovegrove. This one was my least favourite of the trio but still a solid read. The interconnected stories in this one weren’t quite as interesting as the previous two books and the common thread was a bit far fetched. Despite that, it is excellently written. This author does a fantastic job of capturing the essence of the original Sir Arthur Conan Doyle novels. He writes Sherlock Holmes and Watson faithfully to the originals and maintains a very similar writing style to the classic tales. The narrative slots itself superbly into the world Conan Doyle first established. The mysteries are well thought out and very detailed. The secondary characters in this book are written purposefully and all play an important part to the plot. Any mystery and/or Sherlock Holmes fan will enjoy this book.”
