She Had Some Horses
ByPublisher Description
A new edition of the beloved volume by Joy Harjo, one of our foremost Native American poets.
First published in 1983 and now considered a classic, She Had Some Horses is a powerful exploration of womanhood's most intimate moments. Joy Harjo's poems speak of women's despair, of their imprisonment and ruin at the hands of men and society, but also of their awakenings, power, and love.Download the free Fable app

“I have wanted to read joys work for a long time. Has a proud Cherokee i look up to her a lot. I was blown way by her writing. It was amazing. I can't wait to read more from her. I checked out a few of her books from the library so I'm going to dive into her work for the next few days. My favorite poems from this collection were "The Woman Hanging From The Thirteenth Floor Window", "Hearbeat", "Remember", and "I Give You Back". I think everyone can get something out of her work either knowledge or recognition.”
