Served Him Right Reviews

“Im not sure if it was the layout that threw me off but I struggled to get through this book and Im a fast reader. The story line was good, there were parts that I felt were dragging or could've been minimized for explanation purposes, the fact that the sisters are "witches" it dragged with the thought or alluded that this is what they are, it took too long to get there.I loved the family dynamic between the sisters, the backstory of their parents and how that affects them, it gave them depth. Over all once edits are made I think this will be a gem.”
“First I want to say thank you to NetGalley and Lisa Unger for the opportunity to read this! I had high hopes for this book! I loved the prologue and I was hooked but after that I got a little bit boring and I didn’t feel connected with the characters of the story. The premise of this book is great but just didn’t execute well enough for me. I was trying to love this book but it wasn’t for me. I hope that the other readers enjoy this book! It comes out on March 10, 2026! Thank you again”
“I decided not to finish this one, so I won’t be leaving a full review. Once I started reading, I realized it’s not really my thing. I’m not into Wicca, potions, or supernatural themes. Had I known that ahead of time, I probably wouldn’t have requested it. Since I’m not the intended audience for this kind of story, I don’t feel like I could give an honest or fair review. Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Publishing for the ARC!”
“Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing, Park Row, for the advance copy of this book. This story started out well and grabbed my attention early, but I struggled to stay interested as it went on. The supernatural and witch elements weren’t quite what I expected and didn’t really click for me. I think it would have helped to know more about that aspect going in. There were also a lot of characters to keep track of, which made the story feel busy and a bit hard to follow at times. The plot lost focus for me, and I found myself less invested as it went on. A few sections also leaned a little heavy on real-world themes, which pulled me out of the mystery. Lisa Unger is a talented writer, and I can see how this story will appeal to readers who enjoy complex, layered thrillers. It just wasn’t the right fit for me.”
“I love Lisa Unger but this was not my favorite. There were too many unlikeable characters and too many POVs that made it hard to keep track of what was going on. Thank you to NetGalley and Park Row for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.”
