Seeing

By José Saramago
Seeing by José Saramago digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

What begins as a satire on governments and the dubious efficacy of the democratic system turns into something far more sinister. As the story unfolds, "the humor is still tender but the tone darkens, tension rises" (Ursula K. Le Guin, , UK).

“We are all blind to what we don't want to see. Having sight or not doesn't change what we are afraid of. And so tragedy will pursue regardless. How thin the societal veneers. Though the ending is not a happy one it is a story of hope and morality.”
